SRE Role

  • 33% - Product Ownership/Running - care/feeding/running of certain product sets
  • 33% - teaching/helping other teams make their stuff reliable
  • 33% - creating technology to help with reliability - ie Monitoring tools, metrics tools, logging etc..

Support

COPS Points - accountable but flexible. Need to achieve points every month, but different ways to do it:

  • build tools
  • write docs
